Wellness isn’t complicated — it’s a practice of returning to yourself. Here, you’ll find answers to help you understand our therapies, what to expect, and how to make the most of your time in the studio.

Welcome to Studio Sweat — your space for infrared sauna and contrast therapy on Auckland’s North Shore. Below, you’ll find answers to our most frequently asked questions about infrared heat, ice bath recovery, and how to make the most of your session.

  • Studio Sweat is a modern wellness studio in Takapuna, Auckland, offering infrared saunas and contrast therapy (hot and cold exposure). Our space is designed to help you recover faster, reduce stress, and support physical and mental wellbeing through science-backed heat and cold therapies.

  • Infrared sauna therapy uses gentle, radiant heat to warm the body from within — helping to improve circulation, detoxify the skin, relax muscles, and relieve tension. Unlike traditional saunas, infrared heat penetrates more deeply, delivering all the benefits of heat therapy at a comfortable temperature.

  • Contrast therapy alternates between infrared heat and cold immersion (ice bath) to stimulate blood flow and recovery. This process strengthens the immune system, reduces inflammation, boosts energy, and supports mental clarity. It’s one of the most effective ways to reset your body and mind.

  • Both therapies have numerous benefits, including:

    • Reduced muscle soreness and joint pain

    • Enhanced recovery and performance

    • Improved sleep and stress resilience

    • Boosted metabolism and circulation

    • Clearer skin and detoxification support

    • Stronger immunity and mood regulation

  • For general wellness, we recommend 2–3 sessions per week. If you’re training regularly or using the therapies for recovery or detoxification, you may benefit from more frequent use. Regular sessions deliver the most consistent results.

  • Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Towels and filtered water are provided. For the infrared sauna, wear swimwear or light, breathable clothing. For the ice bath, swimwear is recommended.

  • Yes — Studio Sweat offers private infrared and contrast therapy suites that can be booked for one or two people. It’s the perfect way to share the experience while maintaining privacy.

  • Sessions are typically 45 minutes, with time to relax and reset before and after. Contrast therapy includes alternating periods of 15–25 minutes of infrared heat followed by 2–3 minutes in cold immersion.

  • Yes — both are safe for most people. However, if you are pregnant, have heart conditions, or are under medical supervision, please consult your doctor before booking. If you’re new to temperature therapy, start slow and increase gradually.
